TransTech Group delivers tailored solutions that help businesses optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and drive performance in highly technical process industries.Job Summary:We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined CO₂ Tank Repair Shop Technician to inspect, service, repair, and prepare carbon dioxide cylinders and related equipment for safe return to service.This is a hands-on shop position involving compressed-gas cylinders, valves, regulators, fittings, and related components. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, comfortable using hand and power tools, able to follow established procedures, and willing to learn industry and regulatory requirements.Job Description:Inspect CO₂ cylinders for visible damage, corrosion, wear, contamination, and other conditions that may affect safe operation.Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble cylinder valves and related components as authorized by company procedures.Remove and replace valves, O-rings, seals, fittings, and other serviceable components.Clean and prepare cylinders for repair, testing, filling, painting, labeling, or return to service.Perform leak checks and other required inspections after repair or assembly.Inspect valve threads and cylinder connections for damage or excessive wear.Identify cylinders or components that should be removed from service or referred for additional testing.Safely depressurize and handle cylinders according to established procedures.Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, gauges, and shop equipment safely and correctly.Follow required torque specifications, repair procedures, and quality-control processes.Maintain accurate inspection, repair, and service records.Apply or verify required labels, markings, and identification.Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.Load, unload, move, and properly secure cylinders throughout the shop.Follow company safety policies and applicable compressed-gas and hazardous-material handling requirements.Report damaged, questionable, or nonconforming cylinders and equipment to the appropriate supervisor.Assist with cylinder inventory, receiving, shipping, and general shop operations as needed.Mechanical, industrial, welding, automotive, equipment-repair, or compressed-gas experience is preferred but not required.Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.Ability to read work instructions, equipment specifications, safety information, and inspection procedures.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a shop team.Ability to recognize damaged or unsafe equipment and stop work when a safety concern is identified.Basic computer or paperwork skills for documenting inspections and repairs.Job Requirements:Must be 18 years or olderAbility to regularly handle and maneuver compressed-gas cylinders using proper equipment and techniques.Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds independently and heavier items with appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive shop tasks throughout the workday.Ability to work in a production/shop environment that may include noise, dust, temperature changes, and exposure to industrial equipment.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear.Safety & ComplianceBecause this position involves high-pressure compressed-gas cylinders, safety is a primary responsibility.
