Duties and Responsibilities
Perform basic first aid on students
Administer scheduled and PRN inhalers and oral medications
Recognize the signs of severe allergic reactions and be able to administer emergency anaphylactic treatment, if needed
Establish a positive relationship with parents, students, coworkers, volunteers, and other visitors. Contact parents as appropriate.
Learn and maintain knowledge of health documentation
Maintain confidentiality of health information pertaining to individual students/staff
Aid students with daily living needs as indicated
Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma. Post-secondary education in health care field, preferred
CPR Certification
Completion of Unlicensed Medication Assistant Training
Knowledge of Standard Precautions, Seizure Precautions, and Managing Diabetes in the school setting Tier I
Ability to work with the nurse and administrator as a team

For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
