POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Manager is responsible for coordination of the assigned production processes to ensure production targets are met timely and efficiently. Will manage a number of direct and indirect reports consisting of production engineers, production supervisors, production technicians, and hourly employees. Monitors safety, quality, productivity and all other areas of the Plant as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides supervision and direction to meet production objectives and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the assigned production process.
  • Follows, explains, and reinforces company policies and procedures. Coaches, counsels, and trains direct and indirect reports as required.
  • Recommends measures to improve methods, equipment, performance, product quality, efficiency improvements.
  • Ensures team members have the tools and necessary training to perform and meet departmental production goals meeting quality and safety objectives.
  • Ensures employee-related performance issues, conflicts, and other disciplinary issues are addressed and resolved timely and effectively.
  • Completes performance evaluations on direct reports. Approves Time Off requests and work hours.
  • Participates, facilitates and oversees projects related to the areas of responsibility; participates or leads committees and operational task force groups.
  • Promotes and reinforces 5S projects throughout the plant.
  • Supports EHS objectives.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred (Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, etc.).
  • 15 years of prior Supervisory or managerial experience required in a manufacturing facility. 4 years of experience working in automotive industry preferred.
  • Strong planning, organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact across multiple levels of the organization and across functions.
  • Computer skills to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

All department personnel including hourly and salary team members.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office Work Environment
  • Plant work environment with fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter). Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.
  • Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes (where required), glasses, gloves, etc.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing /Walking for extended periods.
  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Ability to stay focused for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify problems.


TRAVEL:

Travel by car or plane may be required.


Salary Range:

Up to ~$130,000 (annually)
