Overview

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey in the construction industry? This position is perfect for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience while supporting a crew chief with geotechnical and environmental subsurface investigations. As a Junior Construction Drill Assistant, you will take part in essential tasks such as handling drill tooling, operating support vehicles, and prioritizing safety protocols on job sites.

This role typically offers full-time hours, generally from Monday to Friday, with some early morning starts based on job site needs. Work hours may vary according to project size and deadlines. Although weekend work may occasionally be necessary, it is kept to a minimum.

You will travel primarily within a 300-mile radius, with overnight stays expected for trips beyond 50-60 miles. Most projects are completed within 1 to 2 days, although some may extend and require travel beyond 300 miles from the base operation. A per diem will be offered for any overnight travel associated with projects.

Responsibilities

• Effectively follow and execute verbal instructions.
• Assist with navigation to job sites, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Contribute to routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of equipment.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain proper documentation.
• Uphold a valid DOT health card and keep a daily driver's log book.
• Safely operate and assist with various drilling equipment, including hollow stem augers and wet rotary drilling.
• Perform all tasks with a strong emphasis on safety.
• Drive company vehicles in accordance with established safety guidelines.

Qualifications

1. Able to move, lift, or carry objects weighing 75 to 100 lbs without assistance.
2. Comfortable working outdoors across varying weather conditions.
3. Sufficient vision and hearing to understand and communicate effectively in English.
4. Must hold a valid US Driver's License.
5. Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
