Industrial Maintenance Technician III

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow Programmable Logistic Controller (PLC) programming, troubleshooting issues using PLC diagnostics (ie. Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 and Siemens S7).
  • Develops maintenance improvements and equipment by studying benchmarking industry best practices to improve and/or implement manufacturing methods, tooling, machines and equipment.
  • Support the planning activities of the preventive and programmed maintenance (build/re-evaluate the preventive maintenance plans).
  • Perform preventive, programmed, and corrective maintenance, to maximize the availability and reliability of the machines, equipment or infrastructure.
  • Utilize technical drawings and documentation for diagnostics and repair of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulics systems.
  • Program motor drivers and similar controllers.
  • Provide support to production workers when setting, adjusting, or repairing equipment.
  • Adjust machine parameters and settings to improve production process.
  • Assist in the development of less experienced maintenance technicians.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in a safe manner (machine guarding, safety shields, etc.)
  • Perform tasked based on facility needs (change light bulbs, clean spills, etc.) while following and maintaining all EHS and safety standards and procedures.
  • Organize and improve housekeeping in assigned areas while following and maintaining all EHS and safety standards and procedures.
  • Creates one-point lessons and perform root cause analysis and resolve problems while providing technical expertise to the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Level of Education Required: Completed High School Diploma/GED, Completed Vocational Maintenance Technician Training, Pursuing Bachelor's Degree Industrial Mechanics / B.S. in Engineering or related field with applicable maintenance training.

Experience Required: 4 Years of Industrial Maintenance experience, electric troubleshooting training certification and/or work experience.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS/EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS REQUIREMENT
  • Ability to continuously stand, sit, walk, stoop, bend, push, pull, reach, grasp and lift (up to 50lbs) for up to 8 hours a day on a concrete floor (over 8 hours when working overtime)
  • Ability to move around a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work in small, confined spaces (only when necessary).
  • Ability to work at extreme heights accompanied by required safety devices.
  • Ability to operate various vibrating mechanical tools and equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to learn from Maintenance Tech II and Maintenance Coordinator
  • Sufficient physical reflexes and personal mobility


TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Hydraulics/Industrial Pneumatic Circuits.
  • Electricity - High level.
  • Fundamental PLC Programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of how to use/read basic gauges micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic systems.
  • Some Knowledge of Electrical (440V) 3 phase system (controls trouble shooting).
