Administrative Assistant - Elementary School - 222 Days

Essential functions:

  • Perform various clerical and administrative support for an office or administrator
  • Prepare correspondence, files, and documents using a word processor or other data management software
  • Serve as point of contact for an office, providing information and guidance
  • Maintain files, inventories, and other records both manually and automated
  • Foster a positive relationship with parents, volunteers, and other school visitors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Regular and punctual attendance required
  • Create letters, forms, and other associated documents
  • Type a variety of routine and complex documents, reports, forms, and correspondence
  • Assist with various administrative and student-related activities such as registration, calling absentees, preparing reports, contacting parents, checking students in/out, and any other related tasks
  • Operate various types of office equipment such as copiers, faxes, scanners, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information pertaining to individual students and/or the overall program

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or sufficient education, training, and experience to successfully perform the duties of the position
  • Extensive experience in clerical or similar administrative positions
  • Demonstrated experience with automated information management systems, including word processing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Special Note: The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.

Special Note: For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
