CODING & COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT MANAGER
Job Title: Coding & Compliance Manager/Certified Professional Coder
Reports to: Vice President, Operations and Vice President Human Resources
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate flow of work in Coding Department
· Liaison for upper management and Coding Department employees
· Inform management and Coding Department of coding changes
· Check work of new employees
· Training of new employees
· Respond to disciplinary problems within department
· Review individual Coding Department Employees work for accuracy and quality
on a regular basis
· Conduct yearly review of employees of Coding Department
· Check in charges as necessary
· Code chronic pain charges
· Correct coding errors
· Correct errors in CPT and ICD-10 maintenance
· Provide coding estimates in absence of Assistant Manager
· Update stardat calendar
· Keep up with and inform other Managers when end of month charges have been
received in absence of Assistant Managers.
· Check status of charges with contact when they are not received
· Preside over monthly departmental meetings
· Create all other departmental logs monthly
