To evaluate and assess educational and emotional needs of students and provide data for planning a program which will help them learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible members of society

Essential Functions:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Determines program needs
  2. Establishes program objectives
  3. Implements activities to meet objectives
  4. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the test setting
  5. Exhibits positive human relations skills
  6. Evaluates the testing program and/or student progress
  7. Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups
  8. Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication
  9. Maintains and submits records and reports
  10. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations
  11. Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership
  12. Assesses referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices
  13. Administers tests to and recommends placement of exceptional students
  14. Assists in the identification of exceptional students
  15. Provides data for the tracking system for special education
  16. Confers with teachers and parents/guardians
  17. Interprets the school psychological services to students, teachers, parents/guardians, and administrators
  18. Attends conferences on placement of individual students
  19. Keeps informed regarding research in psychological and educational testing practices in the areas of test construction, test administration, and test results interpretation
  20. Performs other related duties as assigned

Duty Days: 187

Salary Range: According to Madison County Schools Salary Schedule. Actual salary will be determined by rank and experience. Current employees with questions regarding step placement on the salary schedule should contact the Personnel Department.
