Position Summary: The Project Engineer is responsible for project engineering, daily reports, quantity tracking, project scheduling, budget updates, correspondence logs, and requests for information.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret design/drawings for Superintendents and Foremen in the field as required.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Site Supervision to resolve drawing interpretation issues, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
  • Perform drafting, digitizing, mapping, graphical presentations, and quantity takeoffs to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
  • Assist Superintendents and Foremen in providing survey control lines and elevations for accurate grading and installation of materials.
  • Ensure the most current drawings are issued to appropriate parties for all project phases.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Administer FTP site or other systems for transfer and maintenance of drawings for the BOP contract.
  • Maintain a current drawing log with Rev. #s and issuance dates.
  • Track production of all phases of work and complete weekly production reports.
  • Prepare and disseminate documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations.
  • Verify that all completed work complies with codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare documents for project meetings and lead meetings in the Project Manager's absence.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers on budgeting and phasing of the project.
  • Review and approve project invoices, assist in preparing monthly billings, and setup for new projects.
  • Schedule equipment and materials, create T&M timesheets, and work on budget transfer requests.
  • Assist in creating project budgets and documentation for change orders.
  • Collaborate with estimating to prepare draft estimates in Hard Dollar.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested by the Division Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with job costing, scheduling, and estimating contract changes preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software.
  • Ability to organize multiple information streams and manage priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work remotely at site locations.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum one-year experience in a Project Engineering role preferred; Co-op programs may satisfy this requirement.
