Overview

Acts as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Advanced Engineer in the department. Responsible for projects and technical development in the engineering discipline. May also fill role of Project Engineer on some projects.

Job Type: Full-Time
Location: North Olmsted, OH or Birmingham, AL
Schedule: Hybrid

  • Leads proposal development and project documentation including estimating engineering hours for scope and scope development.
  • Maintains and tracks budget and scope throughout the project.
  • Identifies scope variance and prepares change orders.
  • Adheres to provided Project Execution Procedures and other company procedures.
  • Checks the discipline's scope and budget progress and alerts the Project Manager to needed changes to the scope or other services, including weekly tracking communication.
  • Reviews work of the project design team.
  • Works with existing clients to grow existing relationships and further develop additional client relationships including developing new clients.
  • Prepares complex calculations, designs, specifications and/or reports for checking and reviewing by others.
  • Checks complex calculations, designs, specifications and/or reports prepared by others.
  • Directs and assists co-workers with performing field measurements.
  • Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to the building code is required.
  • Promotes the use of and participates in the development of company design and production standards and works with department manager to ensure adherence to latest code versions.
  • Assists in the education and development of design staff and acts as a resource for design questions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.

PE Certification highly desirable.

  • Proficient in the use of computer for design and understand “CAD” operations. Revit and BIM 360 experience highly desirable.
  • Highly effective at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, and the client.
  • General understanding of services performed by architects and engineers of all disciplines.
  • Proficient in the PC/windows environment with experience in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
