Overview

Allstate Beverage Company, LLC – Delivery Manager. Reports to: Operations Manager. Responsible for leading, directing and controlling the merchandising and delivery activities within assigned territories.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Delivery Drivers to ensure timely deliveries, proper rotation, merchandising, customer service, safe driving, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure that all account receivables are collected according to company policies.
  • Ensure that all Delivery Drivers, Swing personnel, and helpers adhere to company dress code policy.
  • Assist General Manager in recruiting and interviewing of prospective employees.
  • Conduct periodic work-with to observe, critique, and improve delivery performance.
  • Conduct a daily meeting with all drivers to discuss items that arise day to day, including ARs, rotation, displays, new items, communication, and different load sizes for the day.
  • Perform all work activities in accordance with established safe work practices, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all Delivery Drivers adhere to DOT policies (e.g., Daily Truck Reports, Current DOT Cards).
  • Review and adjust daily the work assignments of the Merchandisers as necessary.
  • Conduct a biannual performance review on all members of your team with the approval of the General Manager.
  • Implement route realignments as necessary to improve customer service.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for all Delivery Drivers to ensure professional and consistent performance.
  • Promote the sales of company products through personal selling efforts and regular contacts with individual accounts, chain stores and large retailers.
  • Have a working knowledge of all routes and fill in during sick and vacation leave if necessary.
  • Assist with special events as assigned.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with owners, managers and employees of all assigned accounts, and maintain open and clear communications with them.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation in all assigned accounts and move products between accounts if necessary to prevent out-of-date items.
  • Monitor product dates and swap out out-of-date or damaged product; ensure salability and proper handling of all products.
  • Operate and protect issued equipment (radios, hand trucks, vehicles, etc.) and keep vehicles clean and orderly; ensure regular maintenance to minimize breakdowns.
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance in accordance with company policy.
  • Report traffic violations or safety concerns to the General Manager and investigate accidents within the team with the safety coordinator as appropriate.
  • Conduct activities in accordance with company policies and liquor control regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
