Overview

Specialist - Engine Engineering (Reliability) role at Hyundai Motor Company

Location: Montgomery, AL. The position supports the Engine Maintenance Section – Reliability Engineering staff in day-to-day department activities, ensuring HMMA policies and procedures are carried out to achieve established business goals in an automotive manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include reliability engineering improvements in planning, scheduling, and designing improvements to tools, engines, machines, and other equipment; overseeing installation, project improvement, preventative maintenance, and repair of such equipment.

Responsibilities

• Implement and track cost saving; increase equipment reliability and uptime
• Develop preventative maintenance strategies and schedules
• Manage capital equipment projects
• Perform economic evaluation/Justification Analysis in Reliability & Maintainability Investments
• Maintain and manage spare part inventory; prioritize/plan and procure spare parts; plan for obsolete part replacement; review cost and reliability savings of substitute parts
• Investigate equipment failures and difficult-to-diagnose issues; lead countermeasure and improvement activities
• Provide technical training and create lessons for skills improvements of maintenance and engineering personnel
• Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements
• Coordinate with Contractors and OEM on projects or issues; conduct research to test feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment
• Administer and comply with Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
• Meet other requirements as assigned

Education

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) discipline preferred

Related Experience

• 0 – 10 years of job related experience preferred
• 10 years maintenance experience desired
• 10 years programming experience with CNC metal cutting equipment desired
• 5 years experience supervising the improvement and repair of CNC and automated equipment desired
• 5 years controls experience with Siemens, Fanuc, AB, and other controls with the ability to modify and troubleshoot PLC, CNC, and Robotics system programs desired

Additional Information

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
