Salary InformationCompensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. nA starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and the Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations nNature of WorkThenfundamental reason this classification exists is to perform skilled courtnclerical work that supports the daily operations of the Municipal Court.nEmployees in this class are responsible for ensuring the efficient and accuratenprocessing of court-related documents and activities while providing technicalnand procedural information to the public, attorneys, and judges. The worknresponsibilities include performing general and specialized clerical duties innsupport of Municipal Court operations, assisting the Municipal Court Judgenbefore, during, and after court sessions, preparing and maintaining requiredndocuments and records for court sessions and hearings, receiving and processingnmisdemeanor guilty pleas, dismissing certain violations following applicablenlaws and court procedures, open court sessions, performing criminal historynsearches and maintaining related logs and records. The Court Operations ClerknII differs from the Court Operations I by the broader range of duties,nincluding the complexities of responsibilities performed. Employees exercisengreater discretion within established laws and guidelines and work withnincreased independence. Work is performed under the supervision of the CourtnOperations Supervisor and the Municipal Court Administrator.nMinimum QualificationsHighnschool diploma or G.E.D and four (4) years of clerical or legal experience.nNOTE:nQualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisitenknowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.nSpecial RequirementsMustnbe certified as a Municipal Court Clerk or Magistrate. Must meet annualncontinuing educational requirements as prescribednby the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts. Will be required tonobtain the ACJIS/NCIC Certification within six (6) months of employment asnprescribed by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). Must meet annualncontinuing certification requirements as prescribed by ALEA. Must be willing tontelecommute and work overtime as needed to accomplish department objectives.nKind of ExaminationnnApplications are being accepted to fill one (1) vacancy and any vacancies that may occur during the life of the register.
