Overview: Join GovCIO as a Lead Data Scientist and become a vital part of our dedicated team. In this fully remote, full-time role, you will focus on enhancing our response to system events affecting end users and Veterans. Please note that this position is contingent upon the award of an upcoming contract.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of analytics professionals, including statisticians, data analysts, and data scientists, to foster a collaborative environment focused on innovation and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with business partners to enhance communication and responsiveness to application failures, thereby minimizing performance degradation and downtime.
• Direct project and scrum management activities using agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery of analytics products.
• Create and manage essential documents, including team charters, process improvement recommendations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Guide analytics initiatives by providing meticulous assessments of IT systems and incidents, identifying trends and insights to enhance user experience.
• Utilize advanced data analytics tools (e.g., R, SAS, Python) to extract, compile, and analyze data from various systems, delivering impactful insights through reports and visuals.
• Educate team members on product-specific best practices and oversee integration efforts for enterprise applications.
• Track and manage action items, ensuring accountability and resolution among team members.
• Support executive communications by crafting compelling content for presentations and reports aimed at driving process improvements.
• Promote human-centered design and best practices in usability to optimize overall user experience across engagements.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, with leadership experience preferred.
• Proficient in modern data analytics and business intelligence tools, including experience with machine learning.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce written and verbal reports that communicate complex findings clearly.
• IT background with a comprehensive understanding of technical content and its business implications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust clearance is required.
