About the Role

As we expand our footprint in Alabama, we're seeking experienced educators and school leaders to join our growing team of consultants. The Kirkland Group is seeking passionate and knowledgeable Instructional Coaches in ELA OR Math to serve as independent educational consultants across Alabama. If you're a certified educator with strong knowledge of Alabama Course of Study Standards, instructional best practices, and data-informed planning, we want to hear from you. Note: We are hiring subject-specific coaches. Applicants may apply for ELA OR Math—expertise in both subjects is not required. We are hiring for elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling high-quality instruction in ELA or Math aligned to Alabama Course of Study Standards

  • Co-teaching lessons and supporting day-to-day classroom instruction

  • Facilitating professional development and PLC meetings with teachers and leaders

  • Analyzing student data from ACAP, MAP Growth, DIBELS, and other screeners

  • Supporting implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) in classrooms

Qualifications

  • Active or prior Alabama educator certification (teacher and/or administrator)

  • Deep understanding of either ELA OR Math Alabama Course of Study Standards

  • Experience using assessment tools such as ACAP, MAP Growth, and DIBELS

  • Familiarity with HQIM like Eureka Math, Amplify, Heggerty, etc.

  • Ability to travel to schools throughout Alabama

  • Strong interpersonal and adult learning facilitation skills

Preferred Skills

  • Previous consulting, coaching, or facilitation experience

  • Background in leading data-driven planning, PLCs, or instructional leadership

  • Familiarity with Alabama Department of Education initiatives and HQIM adoption guidance
