GENERAL SUMMARY:

As a Temporary Store Clerk, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, playing a vital role in our store's success. Your responsibilities will include maintaining displays, stocking merchandise, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Unload trucks and receive deliveries.
  • Follow company procedures to unpack and store merchandise efficiently.
  • Build attractive merchandise displays to enhance customer experience.
  • Stock shelves, rotate products, and ensure merchandise is neatly faced.
  • Assist customers in locating products and answering their inquiries.
  • Maintain cleanliness by taking out trash, mopping floors, and cleaning restrooms.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Greet customers warmly to create a welcoming environment.
  • Operate cash register for transactions and accurately handle cash.
  • Assist in ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners when necessary.
  • Help keep the front end of the store tidy and assist with sidewalk displays as needed.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of safety policies and practices.
  • Ability to interpret plan-o-grams and merchandising guidance.
  • Basic cash handling and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in operating cash registers.

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
