Description:

The Courtyard by Marriott in Prattville, AL is now hiring a dynamic Director of Sales to join our incredible team! This is a full-time leadership position at the hotel, managing the day-to-day sales efforts for the property. The salary for this role is $55,000 per year. Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute sales action plans to maximize revenue and develop new business.
  2. Work with the General Manager, Regional Revenue Manager, and Regional Director of Sales to optimize revenue potential and ensure a memorable guest experience.
  3. Maintain positive interdepartmental relations and complete special projects as assigned.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, and industry partners.
  5. Proactively seek new sales opportunities through calls, meetings, and industry involvement.
  6. Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  7. Ensure all sales activities adhere to company policies and standards.

Requisites

  • College Degree (BS / BA) preferred.
  • Previous direct selling experience in a hotel.
  • Experience selling Marriott and/or Hilton Select Service and/or Extended Stay lodging to corporate and weekend market segments is a plus.
  • Hotel operations experience preferred.
  • Professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness are essential.
  • Ability to pass security clearances.

Essential Job Functions

Must be able to perform major life activities such as standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating. Specific physical requirements include standing for eight hours, lifting up to 30 pounds, pushing and pulling 50 pounds, and driving. Must be able to see, hear, speak, and read English. Display professionalism and trustworthiness at all times.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Achieve or exceed monthly revenue targets through proactive sales and relationship building.
  2. Develop and present sales strategies, promotions, and packages.
  3. Utilize business tools and databases to prospect and generate leads.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with top clients and industry contacts.
  5. Monitor market conditions and competitors' practices, adjusting strategies as needed.
  6. Complete all required reports and administrative tasks on time.
  7. Participate in industry and community organizations to enhance visibility and relationships.

Working Conditions

Typically, the role involves three days of sales calls outside the office and two days in the office. Occasional travel and weekend work may be required.
