Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from the production trial runs through to start up and certification, considering new machines, tooling, equipment, infrastructure and manning.
  • Lead the Scrap and Losses team to implement actions to reduce percentage and to optimize the processes according to demands and/or identified needs.
  • Supports the implementation of prototypes by ensuring that the processes are being adhered to and advising of the needed improvements to ensure the product performance, quality and desired scrap level.
  • Troubleshoot problems and lead the root cause investigation and the development of effective and permanent corrective action.
  • Support on the implementation of operational excellence activities (budget, investment plan, annual calendar of events, training, actions and projects etc).
  • Prepare and elaborate didactic content and material for training in the area of operational excellence, leading the events when necessary.
  • Analyze the indicators of continuous improvements, as well as monitoring their implementation and evaluating the results.
  • Determines compliance with dimensional specifications using a variety of measuring instruments.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance to suppliers and to other engineers and technicians in identifying and solving process problems and meeting customer needs and expectations.
  • Performs graph, chart analysis and conduct experiments as required.
  • Performs the thorough understanding of measurements and gauging.
  • Adjusts production travelers when revised.
  • Coordinates re-work of defective parts and implement instructions.
  • Enters collected data and performs analysis on prototype samples.
  • Writes specifications and supports work instructions as required.
  • Draws up reports about the performed tests and forward them to the necessary personnel.
  • Updates and supports new processes, procedures, instructions and documents of excellence operational.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Able to lift 25lb
  • Able to Travel occasionally in cars, planes and other means of transportation
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Advanced computer skills
Education

Bachelor's Degree Completed, undergraduate or engineer student.
