Third Shift: 7 on/7 off

Hours: Wed-Fri: 8pm-6am, Sat/Sun: 6pm-6am, Mon/Tues: 8pm-6am

Fully benefited with health, vision, and dental insurance

Offers shift differential on top of base pay

Job Summary

Is responsible for providing timely and courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing lab analysis accurately and efficiently.

Must be willing to work weekends and holidays that occur during the 7 on schedule.

Must be proficient in phlebotomy or willing to train, although there is a lab assistant on the shift.

Job Description

  • Performs waived, moderate, and high complexity diagnostic laboratory procedures.
  • Calibrates, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots various instruments following established procedures.
  • Performs quality control to ensure proper functioning of instruments, reagents, and procedures.
  • Performs routine analyzer maintenance as specified.
  • Recognizes instrument malfunctions or out-of-control test results and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Understands and participates in all aspects of clinical laboratory testing: pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical.
  • Must maintain positive relationships with coworkers and colleagues.

Required Education

MLS- A bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science. National MLS certification (ASCP) or equivalent is preferred but not required.

MLT -An associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. National MLT certification (ASCP) or equivalent is required.

Must be proficient in blood bank and be able to work independently.

Preferred

Previous work experience heavily desired.

Prefer MLS candidates with at least a year of experience.

MLT Candidates must be certified with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a high complexity lab.
