About the Company:
Join a leading food manufacturing company in Montgomery, AL, that is expanding due to increased business demand. We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Planner to enhance and upgrade our preventative maintenance (PM) program. Our facility houses a blend of state-of-the-art and traditional equipment, including mixers, conveyors, ovens, packaging machines, cooling tunnels, and more. This is a newly created position aimed at strengthening our maintenance department as we grow and install new equipment.

Position Overview:
As a Maintenance Planner, you will be pivotal in improving workforce productivity and quality by eliminating potential delays through effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities. You will oversee the maintenance program, manage the CMMS system, and work closely with contractors and the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Planning: Enhance productivity by planning, scheduling, and coordinating resources, parts, and materials for maintenance tasks.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety requirements are integrated into maintenance plans.
  • Work Order Management: Review completed work orders for accuracy, and update machinery history in the CMMS system.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze historical data to identify and mitigate recurring issues.
  • Contractor Coordination: Schedule and oversee contractor work.
  • CMMS Oversight: Organize, improve, and manage the CMMS program, specifically the E-Maint system or SAP.
  • Recommendations: Advise on overtime needs and future maintenance requirements.
  • Support Role: Assist the Maintenance Manager with daily operations and any additional tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or related field is required.
  • Professional Background: 3-5 years of maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing setting; open to any industry.
  • Technical Skills: Experience implementing PM systems from scratch, ideally with E-Maint, Maximo, SAP or similar CMMS systems.
  • Hands-On Experience: Familiarity with equipment such as Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, motors, and related parts.
  • Data Management: Ability to enter, organize, and enhance data within a preventative maintenance system.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, punctual, and willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Blueprint Reading: Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry Experience: Background in food processing or related equipment is a plus.
  • Certifications: Additional maintenance certifications or technical education preferred.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to perform mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with welding, pipefitting, boilers, or HVAC systems is a plus.
