Description:

Ability to perform any electrical and mechanical repairs on all Extruders, Thermoformers and service all ancillary systems as required for production requirements. Must be familiar with all facets and procedures of plant operations and will be expected to diagnose and repair faulty production and related plant equipment with the minimum of supervision using the provided schematics, drawings, and equivalent documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain a full complement of tools to enable him/her to perform his/her normal duties
  2. Formal training (apprenticeship in the field of electrician) and supply documentation
  3. Able to break down and set up for all Thermoforming product on machinery to the standards set for cycle and quality and be able to clean and prepare all tooling for set up.
  4. Capable of diagnosing and repairing plant equipment entirely on his own, without supervision
  5. Excellent understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  6. Familiar with all facets and procedures of plant operations
  7. Strong industrial electrical and mechanical background with formal training which include theory and reading of schematics
  8. Maintain the necessary hand tools needed to perform job duties in a productive manner
  9. Capable of keeping accurate records of work performed
  10. Perform work in a safe manner to personnel and equipment
  11. Able to use a fire extinguisher
  12. Get assistance to resolve any issues to get machine back in operation
  13. Well rounded knowledge of quality of all products
  14. Housekeeping, must keep all areas free of debris
  15. Well rounded knowledge of all safety procedures
  16. Wear all required PPE per the Maintenance staff
  17. Must adhere to and be in compliance with all SQF/GMP standards
  18. Leads and trains new hires


PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIRMENTS:
  1. Stationary standing: 75% of the shift.
  2. Walking: 75% of the shift.
  3. Touching/Handling Product: 5% of the shift.
  4. Sitting: 10% of the shift.
  5. Useing Controls/Tools: 100% of the shift.
  6. Reaching-(Hand & Arm): 100% of the shift.
  7. Shifting/Twisting/Rotating core: 100% of the shift.
  8. Climb or Balances: 25% of the shift.
  9. Stoop, Kneel, Crouch or Crawl: 75% of the shift.
  10. Talk or hear: 100% of the shift.
  11. Smell: 5% of the shift.
  12. Ability to lift 75 pounds/Max.
  13. Employees may wear corrective lenses (with protective safety over glasses) PPE or use our Safety Prescription Program (Ask your HR Representative).
  14. Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Operating a forklift or other material handling equipment is considered a "Safety Sensitive" function. A Safety-Sensitive Function, as defined by the Company, is one that requires the operation of motor vehicles, forklifts, or motorized warehouse equipment, or one that involves inspecting, servicing, conditioning, controlling, supervising, loading, or unloading such machinery.

SAFETY:

The Maintenance will be responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and policy procedures. Employee's responsibilities include but not limited to:
  1. Compliance with all facility rules and regulations.
  2. Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their Supervisor.
  3. Maintain floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities.
  4. Communicate to Management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures.
  5. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)/properly and reporting any defective PPE.
  6. Report all near misses, accidents, injuries, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employees will be working in a Manufacturing and/or Warehouse environment in all types of weather.

Conditions may range from and include : hot, cold, humid, loud, working near airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic.

Employee will work in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works with manufacturing equipment. An employee performing the duties of this job is required to use proper safety procedures to eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent certification or experience on the job, manufacturing experience; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience would be good. Need to have good math, reading, and writing skills.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
  1. Powered Industrial Truck Certificate (In house training and licensing).
  2. Lockout/Tagout Certification. (In house training and licensing).
