The Histology Technologist shall provide timely and courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing Histology procedures accurately and efficiently. This individual shall detect and report unusual conditions to supervisor. The Technologist shall demonstrate knowledge of histologic techniques, principles, instruments, and their relationship. The Technologist shall assist the Pathologist with examination of specimens, as well as to process specimens and to prepare and stain microscopic sections. This individual will need to know how to maintain and/or troubleshoot equipment and instruments. The Technologist will have the opportunity to also work on QI projects pertaining to the Laboratory and Histology. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.Description

• Bachelor's degree in Biology and/or Chemistry required.
• Histological laboratory training culminating in national certification.
• Experience under certified director.
• ASCP Histology (HT), Histotechnologist (HTL) or Cytologist (CT) required
• Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated.
• Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
• Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients.
• Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
