Overview:

Summary

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for data collection and analysis of key warehouse processes: Receiving, Put Away, Packaging, Picking, Stuffing, and Shipping. The incumbent ensures a smooth and consistent operation so that parts and supplies are able to be located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Create and maintain warehouse processes and changes for RDC Process Manual
  • Create and maintain all warehouse documentation related to procedures for all work centers
  • Conduct quarterly process audits to ensure procedural accuracy and report all findings
  • Use internal systems to monitor, measure, and analyze warehouse capacities for each department
  • Provide daily reports to Warehouse Manager on current workload and worker distribution
  • Coordinate with warehouse supervisors to analyze warehouse stock by type, classification, and quantity for continuous consolidation efforts
  • Monitor and report Warehouse Optimization Storage (WOS) space fill rates
  • Maintain strong relationship with suppliers, internal customers, and external customers
  • Support company values and goals to establish a world class organization
  • Plan, conduct, and promote team safety meetings within the work place
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities preferred for this position.)

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field plus at least 6 months of experience in a distribution center OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 or more years of experience in a distribution center

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to make good decisions and take decisive action in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong time management skills

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience in an automotive distribution environment
  • Knowledge of automotive distribution and warehousing
  • Team building experience
  • Lean Manufacturing experience

Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:

  • Selected candidate will be required to obtain a Mobis powered industrial vehicle operator license

Working Conditions:

  • 50% in office; 50% in non-climate controlled warehouse
  • 10% Domestic/ International Travel
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Operating various warehouse equipment such as forklift, high reach, pallet jack, skid wrapper, and PDA scanner
  • Overtime as needed
