Plant Accountant

Job Purpose
- Manage all aspects of accounting functions for a large manufacturing facility;
- Responsible to provide sales and earnings statements to assist leaders in making business decisions;
- Develop and maintain accounting compliance standards; develop appropriate reports; manage inventory controls.

Key Job Elements
- Reconcile and ensure accuracy of balance sheet accounts; maintain detail supporting schedules;
- Complete month end close process including journal entries and account reconciliations;
- Identify and analyze manufacturing labor, material, and financial budget variances;
- Review accounting processes for accuracy and potential for improvement; implement changes as required;
- Work in cross-functional team to be the resident expert for all questions / issues involving financials;
- Assist Operations Team in preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts;
- Produce and distribute financial statements, assuring timeliness and accuracy;
- Periodic financial reporting;
- Managing cost accounting functions;
- Project management;
- Assist Corporate Compliance in testing internal controls for Sarbanes Oxley compliance;
- Ensure compliance with company policies related to finance;
- Analyze cost and champion cost out initiatives.

Education / Training
- Accredited BS Degree in Accounting;
- CPA, CCA or CMA preferred;
- MBA a plus.

Qualifications and Experience
- 5 years accounting experience in Manufacturing Environment;- Strong cost accounting background;- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);- Infor LN or other major ERP software knowledge is desired;- Experience with Report Writing Systems such as Cognos and data analysis software such as TM1 is desired;- Strong analytical skills and general knowledge of accounting principles in a complex environment;- Proven interpersonal and communication skills;- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills;- Detail-oriented / sense of urgency / follow-through;- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and work effectively in varying environments;- Change Agent Mentality.
